It’s been a while, ok a very very long time (see “Happy Halloween…”) but I thought I’d get back into the swing of things with this picture of Coit Tower. The view looking out onto the city was great, but I liked the view looking up.

Astoria: The Museum of the Moving Image

This past weekend, I went with my parents and my boyfriend out to the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, Queens. Lots of cool exhibits there, including this one demonstrating the use of strobe lights to create the illusion of motion. Here you can see what the exhibit looks like in normal light (top) and with the strobe (bottom).

Spokane, Wa: My Grandmother’s apartment

This past weekend I went up to Spokane, Washington for my cousin Joe’s wedding. While there I saw my grandmother who I hadn’t seen in years. She has some short term memory loss but is quite witty and a pleasure to hang out with. My family and I had a really nice time eating lunch with her in Manito Park, and I liked the post its she put on her cabinets.

Williamsburg Skies

I know most people in New York have seen some version of this photograph several times already; now you’ve seen mine. This was one of the most incredible skies I’d ever seen…as seen through the parking lot of Key Foods on Grand Street.

Guatemala: Antigua, Pacaya and El Lago de Atitlán

As some of you know, I just returned from a six day trip to Guatemala. My tour guide/old friend Emily showed us around and we were able to see some beautiful scenery: from the city of Antigua (an old colonial capital) to the Pacaya Volcano (one of many volcanos in the very seismically active country) to the peaceful Lago de Atitlán (where we at and drank and played monopoly). Very good times.
